Where are you from?
I moved to Lexington in 2014 from San Francisco. I’m originally from the Boston area and wanted to move back closer to home.
How long have you been a member at Steel fox and why did you join?
I joined Steel Fox in the fall of 2018. I had been working out pretty regularly, but not seeing any real results. I started seeing Rita for personal training sessions and then I started going to Steel Fit. I’m hooked! I believe in her method. I am the strongest I have ever been, and I love it.
What classes do you usually attend?
Steel Fit Mon/Tue/Thurs
What do you like to do outside of Steel Fox?
Outside of Steel Fox, I enjoy being active with my kids. We love hiking, kayaking, and fishing. I also started skiing this past season and love it!
What is something we might not know about you?
I love to sing.
What is your favorite crossfit movement?
I love deadlifts and hip extensions.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
Learning to ski as an adult is high on the list. By the end of the season, I was easily skiing down intermediate terrain. I’m hoping to conquer black diamonds next season. ;)
What is one long term goal and one short term goal?
Short term goal - I want to learn how to play tennis this summer. Long term - I want to continue strength training. I want to be able to deadlift 300 pounds by the end of the year! It’s ambitious, but I think I can do it.
What motivates and inspires you?
Motivation - My husband. He’s always been my biggest fan and he pushes me to try new things. I wouldn’t have joined Steel Fit if he hadn’t encouraged me. In terms of inspiration - Rita. Whenever i second guess myself during a workout, Rita is always in the background cheering me on. She pushes me to do things I never thought I could. :)
