How long have you been a member at Steel Fox and why did you join? I've been a member for 6 months now. I joined for a few reasons. I knew Rita personally and she just genuinely wants to help people be as healthy and as in shape as possible without judgement from where you are starting. From that, I knew Steel-Fit was the challenge I needed. Convenient location and class times also definitely helped!
What classes do you usually attend? Monday and Wednesday (and soon to be Thursday!) 4:30 Steel-Fit
What do you like to do outside of steel fox? I spend time with my dog, Finn, my friends, go to the movies, spin, travel, go to the beach, and I volunteer with Last Hope K9 Rescue where I adopted Finn from.
What is something we might not know about you? I am a victim advocate and work in a prison.
What is your favorite Crossfit movement? Not sure about Crossfit, but I think my favorite thing we do in Steel Fit are single leg dead lifts.
What is your greatest accomplishment? Losing the 60+ lbs I have to get to this point and going from feeling like I was dying during each Steel-Fit class to feeling good and being able to increase weights to what I didn't think I would be able to do.
What is one long term goal and one short term goal? My short-term goal is to kick butt in Steel Fox's Nutrition Challenge which just started. My long term goal is to finally reach my goal clothing size. I'm not as worried about the scale vs. losing body fat and inches.
What motivates and inspires you? "I didn't come this far to only come this far" is a quote that inspires me. I also find great motivation with everyone at the gym from my fellow Steel-Fit members sweating it out in class with me to the coaches, especially Rita.
