Where are you from? I am from Madison, Wisconsin. The next time I plan on visiting home is in August to see the Crossfit Games!
How long have you been a member at Steel fox and why did you join? I’ve been a member of Steelfox for a little over a year and a half. I joined because I was new to the area and wanted an awesome community to be a part of outside of work, and I knew I really enjoyed crossfit and working out in a team environment—Steelfox’s Instagram made it look like a fun place to be so I signed up!
What classes do you usually attend? I attend the 5:30 PM classes on weekdays and the 9:00 on Saturday mornings.
What do you like to do outside of steel fox? As a new New-Englander, I am still exploring a lot and trying as many new things as I can! In the past year I went to Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and NYC for the first time. My next “firsts” are watching the Boston Marathon in April, and then going to Nantucket for Memorial Day!
What is something we might not know about you? I am a HUGE Packers fan. Yes, I have my own cheesehead.
What is your favorite crossfit movement? My favorite crossfit movement is either the deadlift, or strict press!
What is your greatest accomplishment? My greatest accomplishment was graduating from Butler University as a 4-year Division I athlete, and 2-year captain. I am extremely proud of all my accomplishments in swimming, and will definitely be back in the water!
What is one long term goal and one short term goal? My long-term goal is to be more aggressive with my lifting and more confident in my abilities—I’m still scared of snatches every time! My short-term goal is a chest to bar (I was SO close in 18.5!)
What motivates and inspires you? The goals I set for myself motivate me! I like to have a “deadline” in mind to work towards. Now that the Open is done, my next goal is to complete my first Spartan Sprint in May! After that, I would like to do another crossfit competition.
