1. What made you decide to do CrossFit at Steelfox?
I had been in a rut with my workouts for some time and felt I wasn’t really getting anything out of what I was doing. In January 2017, my company hired Rita to implement a fitness program and coach at our office. For three (3) months I worked out with her 2x/week. This is where my decision to join Steelfox began. Being held accountable and getting stronger made me love exercise all over again. In March 2017, I signed up at Steelfox under a corporate membership going 3x/week. I quickly changed to an unlimited membership and couldn’t be happier.
2. What keeps you coming back?
I feel what keeps me coming back every day is the willingness to push myself further and further, the friendly competition within the gym, constantly learning new things, and the strength I’ve gained in such a short time. Also, I feel more energized now that I’m working out on a more consistent basis.
3. What are some results you have seen?
Some results I’ve noticed are muscle definition in my arms and legs, weight loss, tighter mid-section, and better endurance.
4. What is one of your favorite movements?
So far my favorite movement is kipping handstand push-ups. When I first heard about this movement I never thought I’d be able to do it. The complexity, strength and coordination used to execute this movement and being able to do it correctly make me happy when I’m able to complete the workout.
5. Name one of the hardest challenges you had to overcome in your life?
One of the hardest challenges I’ve experienced so far was making the decision to leave my husband. Becoming a single mom when our son was 3 years old was terrifying at first but knowing my family supported me made my decision a little easier.
